I would like to discuss a hand that I played in the past in an edition of Poker After Dark that I had to handle a side pot against a good player.
Gabe Kaplan had very few chips and was the first player to act. With blinds of 300/600, he caught a decent hand with
and put in the center of the table all its faces, 2500. Mark Gregorich has paid the button with pocket fives. Some people have opted here for a raise, but he does not mind if someone paid for it was a six player Sit & Go and try this time to remove a player.

I looked at my books and I
. I figured it out on Mark of the hand, but there may be a point to play a small bet hands like pocket kings or aces, hoping that I'll try to do just that, to away - so I simply paid, which maximizes our chances to Gabe out of the race.

The flop came

And Gabe have two pairs, but what happened here in the main pot does not matter. The rest is entirely hand on the side pot. This is one of those strange situations where a player is all-in and the action is between two other players. Mark 3000 on the flop bet, which is unusual, but it would not bother to pull the game more than a pair of and hope that Gabe has a Queen-King-Queen or Jack. I had to play this with caution, since Mark is a good player and enter into a side pot sec, so my only option is a check and then paid his bet.

The turn came
and we both went for a check. Rivera was
and provided an interesting situation, because I felt that I have the best hand, but it was difficult for me to be paid on a bet. But I had to defend myself for not having to pay a big bet and I put in a difficult position, so I decided to make a bet the right than just faces and hope that 1600 will be paid My opponent with a weaker ace. There were about 13,000 chips in the middle, but Mark and I play for only 6000. So betting somewhere in the 25 percent of the side pot, I can defend a situation where you have to pay a big bet, but can also throw my hand if I get a raise from Mark. It would never make a bluff at this point.

Eventually, Mike gave up his book and I'm back
to take the side pot and almost half the cash that was on the table. Gabe but from that point even managed to return and win the sit-and-go, so it might be something said about that you should never give up in these situations late in the tournament.
